How is my purchase actually helping survivors of modern day slavery?

This is our favorite question. There are currently 23 (and counting!) men and women in South Asia that are receiving regular, ongoing work due to the order being placed by Mended. Each person block printing Mended linens is a survivor of a specific type of human trafficking in which they had been working in cruel, unfair and violent situations. This work (your purchase) provides economic empowerment which is a key piece of their restoration puzzle.  

How do I care for my Mended linens?

Tea Towels: Tea Towels can be washed in cold water with low tumble dry heat.

Napkins, Table Runners, Bandanas and Pocket Squares: While dry cleaning is preferred, it is not required.

Napkins: Napkins can be washed in cold water and then air dried.

Table Cloths: Dry cleaning is recommended.

If I’m gifting Mended, how will they know the impact of the product?

Each purchase comes with a 4”x4” story card that explains how the product is made and who made it. If you need more than one story card for your order, reach out to us (info@mended.co) and we will happily include more.

There is an odor to my Mended linens – what do I do?

This is from the dye that is being used on the linens. The process requires 3-4 days of drying in the sun for each piece in order to fully remove the odor. Due to the rainy season, sometimes these timelines are not possible. We recommend soaking the linen in white vinegar for 30 minutes and then adding 1 cup white vinegar to your washer load. If possible to air dry outside or near a window, the linens will refreshen. If this odor is a nuisance or becomes problematic, please let us know. We want to make it right.

How do you handle returns?

If you are not completely satisfied with your product, we’ll happily accept a return within 45 days and refund your purchase. Please send a note to mallory@mended.co with your request.

Do you ship internationally?

At this point, we only ship within the United States. Our goal is to widen our reach, but we have not yet done that. Shoot us a note (mallory@mended.co) if there’s a location in which you’d like to see us ship!
